TEXAS FF's Qualify for Reimbursement
The Texas A&M Forest Service "Fire Department Programs" offers assistance programs and training opportunities for fire departments that build their capacity to protect life and property.
The Texas Intrastate Fire Mutual Aid System (TIFMAS) Grant Assistance Program provides reimbursement grants to career fire departments and combination fire departments with 21 or more paid members. The program provides tuition reimbursement grants.
Those eligible include:
- Career fire departments that have no volunteer members and that are staffed with paid members only.
- Recognized part-paid, part-vol
The Rural VFD Assistance Program provides funding to VFDs for firefighter training.
Recognized, non-profit volunteer fire departments operated by its members are eligible. Any part-paid/part-volunteer fire department is also eligible if the number of paid members is 20 or fewer.
